WHAT I BELIEVE AND TEACH

BODY BALANCE:

After assessing a prospective client for strength, flexibility, and joint function, I start by helping my clients achieve body balance.  That is, being balanced in strength and flexibility across the planes of motion. This is a priority because imbalance is most often the cause of injury. 

 

APPROPRIATE MOVEMENT:

Being active is one of the most important things you can do-- but only if your movement is appropriate for you.  If you don't have the strength, balance, or coordination to properly execute an exercise, it's not right for you.  

I always start where you are, and will safely help you progress to higher and higher levels. I don't do dangerous programs, and your safety is always my top concern.  But I also recognize that if you aren't being challenged, your body is not changing.  My focus as your trainer is teaching you how to safely and effectively do the exercises, as well as appropriately challenge you.

SOUND NUTRITION:

How you train is important, but without the correct nutrition, you will go not go anywhere. Or worse, you'll wind up hurting yourself because you haven't given your body what it needs to do its job.

I believe that nutrition goes hand in hand with training. I teach my clients how to eat to support their goals, to keep them safe, and to effectively lose fat or gain muscle. I focus on balanced nutrition with real food, but with an approach that takes into account their real life. I teach my clients how to eat instead of telling them what to eat, so that the

 

CAREFUL HABITS:

I believe that you are only as strong as your habits-- and that they can either make or break your success. I help my clients examine their habits, and revise the ones that are standing in their way.  

MASTERING YOUR MINDSET:

Nothing is going to happen with your body if you are constantly fighting your brain. The attitude you have toward your health, your fitness journey, and everything else you do 100% affects the outcome.
